About the Institute

NIT Raipur
National Institute of Technology, Raipur, is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India and is currently undergoing accelerated growth. It is one of the oldest and biggest institutes in the NIT system offering UG, PG and Ph.D. programmes in science and engineering. It has proven excellence in the field of science and technology over past few decades in central India.

About Department of Physics

The Department offers an M.Sc. in Physics, basic Physics to undergraduate engineering students, and PhD programme in all frontline areas of Physics, including luminescence materials, solar cells, III-V nitrides, and rare-earth thermo-electrics, among others. The Department is running various projects in experimental and theoretical condensed matter Physics, sponsored by the DST, CSIR, and CCOST. The Department has produced more than 35 PhDs so far.
